Thomson Whisky distills single malt, blends and also bottles selected casks. Using hand-beaten copper pot stills, just three ingredients form the basis of the whisky they distill; malted barley, water, yeast. Aged in a range of casks including ex-bourbon barrels, NZ red wine casks and some miniatures, the spirit is growing handsome with age. By traditional methods for contemporary ends - it’s all about a passion for the spirit, creativity, and respect for the craft distilling process. They are 100% family owned.
Thomson Two Tone Whisky
'Two Tone' refers to the 2 kinds of cask used for the maturation of this Thomson whisky. A hand-crafted blend utlising European oak which formerly held New Zealand red wine, and American white oak used exclusively for whisky. Sea air and caramelised fruits on the nose, with red berries, apricot and spice on the palate.

Thomson Manuka Smoke Progress
Made from 100% New Zealand grown malted barley, smoked using native Manuka wood. This ‘work in progress’ bottling offers natural smoke, cinnamon, clove, Manuka oils.
